Yoga

In the summer of 2011, Candace pursued her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training through Corepower Yoga in Minneapolis, MN, and is a registered Yoga Instructor through the Yoga Alliance. Her desire for the certification was to be able to incorporate yoga more thoroughly into her life as a musician, to become more grounded, and to help deal with anxiety and stress with being a performer. When it comes to planning for classes, she makes the class about the students, coming in with a plan, but is ready to change it according to the students needs, creating a sense of comfort, but still offering a challenge on the mat. Her strengths in teaching lie in providing clear cues to get students safely into poses, finding balance between the more active standing postures, flowing sequences, and the gentle restorative poses.

Currently teaching yoga via zoom due to pandemic safety measures. A return to in person teaching will happen, where and when is TBD!

300 hour TT

I am in the process of pursuing my 300 hr teacher training through Corepower Yoga. After 10 years of teaching yoga in various settings, I finally felt ready to dive into the deep end and fully embrace and understand the next level of yoga. I’ve always wanted to do it, but also felt I needed more experience teaching and exploring.

PCES certification

I am in full on education mode this year. I am just beginning on my Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES) certification. This is through Dr. Sarah Duvall and her Core Exercise Solutions. This program will not only open the door for me to work with pre and postnatal mamas get back to where they need to be, but can also help others out there that might have pelvic floor or breathing issues. This training will also jumpstart another layer of my research into musicians and yoga, to begin with, I’ll focus on brass playing mamas.
